ISCAR’s multi-function drills (DRM family and DR-MF family) are designed to perform a variety of operations with a single tool, significantly reducing machine idle time due to tool changes, and offering a combined solution (1 tool doing the task of 2 or 3 tools) when the number of stations in a machine tool carousel or lathe turret are at capacity. The DRM line is capable of combining drilling and milling, while the DR-MF line is designed to handle both drilling and turning operations (facing, boring and external turning).
Combining functionality into one tool can sometimes make the difference in getting a part completed on one machine, or in eliminating the need for a machine operator(s) making time-consuming manual tool changes when the machine carousel or turret is at capacity and more tools are needed to complete a part. Watch it in action in the short video above (music only, no transcript).
