VIDEO: Machining Two Materials Simultaneously With The New Tangential Shoulder Mill: Mill 4™-12KT

Hey there, I'm Nick, coming to you from the technology lab here at Kennametal in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. This is a place not many people get to see and we're going to be showing you some pretty cool and high-tech stuff and some crazy stuff too. The versatile Mill 4™-12KT covers many shorter milling applications which we're about to show you.

Now don't try this at home but Jake's put this block of steel and block of cast iron side by side in the same vise and now we're gonna cut these two materials at the same time. First we'll do a circumferential cut with a three millimeter depth of cut. We're starting on the side of the cast-iron block then continuing all around the steel block and finishing on the cast-iron block again. 

Now it's going to get really wild. We're going to take a full slot with half of the cutter being engaged in steel and the other half in cast iron. Finally, we're gonna take a five millimeter depth of cut full slot through the cast-iron block first then continue right through the steel block.
