Sandvik Coromant is the world’s leading supplier of tools, tooling solutions and know-how to the metalworking industry. With extensive investments in research and development they create unique innovations and set new productivity standards together with their customers. These include the world's major automotive, aerospace and energy industries.
As the manufacturing industry is becoming more digital both in tooling and in ways of working, so do we need to adapt in order to create a competitive difference through faster and more efficient ways of working when it comes to metal cutting. Mobile solutions and calculators, such as those from Sandvik Coromant, have helped operators and programmers become more efficient by delivering accurate speeds and feeds and any other technical information required in their day-to-day operation, such as choosing the correct tool or insert for the application.
Below you will find descriptions and links to the Sandvik Coromant mobile solutions and calculators.
Ifind: The Ifind app will help you find tools, solutions, or the information you need for your activities. You can get tool recommendations, browse tool specific information and even engage in Sandvik Coromant's free metalworking classes. What do you want to do today? If you are unsure of which tool to use in your operation, navigate to the “Find a Tool” section within the app, which will guide you to find the right tool for your job based on your machining requirements.
Turning Calculator: Designed to support engineers, programmers and machinists when working with turning tools. It includes machining and cost calculations. You can even compare two different solutions to see the effect of changed cutting parameters. The Turning Calculator also includes a material database for calculating Kc values, power, torque, etc.
Milling Calculator: The Milling Calculator is designed to support engineers, programmers and machinists when working with milling tools. It includes machining and cost calculations. You can even compare two different solutions to see the effect of changed cutting parameters. It includes a material database for calculating Kc values, power, torque, etc.
Drilling & Tapping Calculator: The calculator is designed to support engineers, programmers and machinists when working with drilling and tapping tools. The Drilling & Tapping Calculator app will help users calculate optimal cut settings based on job parameters. It also includes hole size calculations for tapping and ISO tolerances for bore and shaft. With the input of production values, it is also possible to calculate various costs related to a drilling operation, such as the tool cost per component, the insert cost per component and the total machining cost per component. Both machining and cost calculations include an option for single input or a compare mode. The app works with both metric and inch measurements.
Start Values: This app will give you recommended cutting data (speed, feed and depth of cut) for your machining operations. Scan the Sandvik Coromant insert box barcode or search for the product order code to get recommendations for different materials. Switch between metric or ANSI order codes in the info page. You can now send the cutting data recommendations from Start Values directly to any of the turning, milling or drilling calculator apps. And don't worry if you don't have them installed, the app will prompt you to install it.
Machining Calculator: The Machining Calculator is designed to help engineers and machinists optimize the performance of their turning, milling, and drilling applications by calculating optimal cut settings based on job parameters. It also highlights how small changes in the way you use your tools can have a big impact on the results you get from your machines and tooling.
