How To Find The Right Product
In selecting your Sandvik Coromant Solid Round Tool, there are only two steps you need to take in order to gain the most benefit out of our tooling selection. The first, is select the application type; milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, etc. The second is to select the category of our portfolio according to your application demands. This is where our segmentation within the overall Solid Round Tools portfolio is categorized into the Versatile, Optimized and Customized solutions.
Versatile Solutions
If you are looking for one tool that can handle multiple workpiece materials, whether drilling steel or all the way down the ISO materials spectrum to hardened materials, choose the Versatile Solution. This selection will offer you a robust tool for various applications as well which is ideal for small batch and varied production.
Choose the CoroDrill 460 if you’re looking to drill many different material types but are looking for consistent tool life and excellent hole quality.
Optimized Solutions
When looking at medium to large batch production which requires a tool truly refined for your specific application, look to an Optimized Solution. This selection will ensure your tool is designed to perform with the highest reliability at maximum efficiency for the specific material you’re machining.

Customized Solutions
When your machining requirements demand a specific tool not available via any standard offer look to choose a Customized Solution. At Sandvik Coromant we apply advanced application knowledge and expert advice into developing unique tools customized to fit your application. An example of such an application could be drilling components with multiple complex features including multiple steps, seat angles, and chamfers, or simply stepped and chamfered holes where screws or bolt heads need to be “hidden”.
