You will have to use single point tools if you need to dress forms into your wheel, so remember to index your diamond before each shift. Think of the diamond tool like a pencil. If you use a pencil and never turn it in your hands, the lead gets all wonky and breaks off prematurely. The same thing will happen to your diamond. Just give it a 15 degree turn before you fire up the grinder to keep the diamond sharp and make it last as long as possible. Many manufacturers offer tools with hex heads to make this indexing super easy. Remember too, that resettable diamonds are much more expensive than non-resettable ones. Make sure to pull them from the machine before the exposed tip is too far gone and the diamond can no longer be reset. No point in paying for points that can never be used. Multi-point diamond tools can be a huge time saver for straight face dressing. They last much longer than single point diamonds.
