Yep, just 27%. So, how underutilized are your machines?
We talked to MachineMetrics and it says that the data found in “Top Shops” is off the mark. A “Top Shop” uses 60 to 80 percent machine capacity. MachineMetrics says no, that’s not happening. It isn’t dinging Gardner for its report as much as it is pointing out that the companies in the survey are not reporting accurate info. FYI: MachineMetrics takes data directly from the PLC.
Based on its own data, manufacturers are only using 27 percent of their actual capacity in the industry across the board. That means there’s a whopping 73 percent more to use?
