Metal Spinning and Hydroforming or Deep Draw Stamping?

Parts shaped like top hats, mixing bowls and rocket nose cones are easy enough to make, but producing large quantities of them typically means investing in a forming die—and doing deep draw stamping.

This can add significant costs to a project that might need only a handful of parts—and weeks or months to the delivery lead time. There are options: Hydroforming and metal spinning.

Have you evaluated these technologies and the techniques? Hydroforming, for example, takes several different forms and processes. You can learn a lot more about it in our recent article on the subject.

Have any tips and/or techniques about deep drawing and what works or does not work for you?
