The first step in selecting the right product is to understand what you are absorbing. In general, there are three different possibilities. Universal pads are known for their versatility, effectively absorbing most oil-based, water-based or chemical substances. Oil-only pads are your best choice for quickly and effectively tackling oil-based spills. These pads are specifically designed to repel water, and can be used to control outdoor spills. They can also be stored outdoors. Like universal pads, chemical pads can absorb all types of substances, with one additional benefit; their bright yellow or green color serves as an alert to the presence of hazardous material for proper, safe disposal. Absorbents can be used in a number of ways.

By recommending a product that addresses your specific application, we can help you reduce the number of products you purchase. Absorbents are commonly placed beneath machinery to capture leaks, drips or spills. Economical lines, like our GP and Basic products, are ideal for these situations. Another common application is in the wipe-down of tools or equipment. Often, these tools have jagged edges, crevices and compartments that can catch material. For these situations, you want a product with spun-bond cover stock, an exterior coating that covers the polypropylene and reduces the likelihood of linting. See the difference? For high-traffic areas, consider an adhesive or barrier-backed absorbent. These products are specifically designed with added durability ideal for aisles and walkways.

Brady SPC provides a range of specialty socks and pillows for those unique, one-of-a-kind situations. Primarily used indoors, socks effectively prevent leakage into aisles and walkways from machinery that is flush with the floor. Pillows are designed to wedge underneath equipment that is raised off the floor. With greater absorbency per square inch than any other product, pillows are a great addition to your program.
