PPE protects workers from death, disabling injuries and illness; as well as from threats of exposures to certain biological particles, chemical agents, and splashes. Occupational skin diseases (OSD) are the second most common type of occupational disease. Protective apparel is designed to prevent occupational skin diseases and exposure to harmful substances.
