SELECTING THE APPROPRIATE TURNING CHIP GEOMETRY

The chip groove/geometry is critical to producing a good cut. If it is to shallow the material will not turn on it's self and break. It will them create long stringy chips that clog the chip conveyor or wrap around the spindle or tool. All manufacturers have differing chip geometry based on the type of material being machined.
