Look to upgrade a CAT40 cnc mill with hydraulic holders. Any recommendations? Has anyone used the Hydroforce from Kennametal? How do they compare to Schunk?

CNCEXPERT: Both manufacturers are comparable with their standard hydraulic chucks and are similar in quality and application ranges. Schunk has a new style called Tribos Polygonal that has an internal vibration dampening feature. This allows for elevated SFM and IPM while not sacrificing tool longevity. We have the Kennametal Slim Line chucks (15000 rpm) in our BIG BOOK an page 1229 and the Schunk Tendo E-Compact (15000 rpm) and Tendo Platinum (25000 rpm) on page 1230. I have pasted links to both manufacturers below if you would like to research them further.
If their is anything else we can assist you with please post again!

Our TENDO EC hydraulic holders are a good starting point for introducing hydraulic holders into your shop. For CAT40 , we offer them in 3/4" and 20mm bore diameters which can be adapted to fit smaller tool shanks with the use of intermediate sleeves. If you prefer to direct clamp, consider our platinum series which offers more bore diameters and also a wider selection of gage lengths. MSC stocks a variety of both of our holders and sleeves. The top three benefits ofr hydraulics would be ease of use, run out and repeat accuracy, and vibration dampening. Hope this helps. Sorry for the late response, I just signed up for this forum.
