Welcome to our informative Get the Facts video, where we compare three essential protective garment seams for Tyvek® Garments: Taped Seam, Bound Seam, and Serged Seam. In this detailed seam comparison, we tested these seams using a powerful air blower to check their ability to protect against particles. To conduct these tests, we added Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) to the seams solely for experimental purposes. This helped us see if particles would leak through the seams during the blow test.

The Taped Seam is the strongest, known for its exceptional ability to guard against harmful substances. It formed a strong barrier against particles, even when the blower is powerful.

Next, we looked at the Bound Seam, which we tested with Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) to see how well it protects against particles. While it does a good job, it faces some challenges compared to the Taped Seam. During the blow test, we carefully observed if particles escaped through its seams, which gave us vital information.

Lastly, we examined the Serged Seam, which we tested with Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3). Even after the test, the Serged Seam doesn't protect against particles as well as the Taped Seam. The blow test helps us see if particles escape through its seams, which helps us make improvements.
