About the Host: Jeffrey Merkel, CSP, QSSP- Graduated Oglethorpe University in Atlanta with a B.A. Psychology. Jeff has worked in manufacturing for 19 years. First with Anitox in Lawrenceville, GA, developing and manufacturing antimicrobials for animal feeds. Jeff held roles as a microbiologist, R&D chemist and Quality Assurance/Quality Control. More recently, Jeff worked as a Quality Manager and Safety, Health, Environment and Security Manager for DSM Nutritional Products. Here, Jeff supported 4 vitamin premix plants in North America in their efforts to keep everyone going home safely to their family and friends at the end of the workday. Jeff joined MSC in May 2019 as a Safety Specialist serving customers and MSC branches in GA and SC. Jeff obtained the Certified Safety Professional and Qualified Safety Sales Professional designations in 2019. When not promoting safety in the workplace, Jeff can often be found in a canoe or kayak with his wife and 2 children.
