MSC is proud to be a sponsor of MFG Day 2024

CREATORS WANTED

Securing the next generation of manufacturing talent is more important than ever. According to The National Association of Manufacturers Q2 2024 Manufacturers' Outlook Survey [1], more than two thirds of manufacturers cited the inability to attract and retain employees as their top primary challenge. Meanwhile, a study by Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute [2] found that US Manufacturing could need as many as 3.8 million new employees by 2033, with half of these positions at risk of remaining unfilled.

With this workforce shortfall looming over the future of US manufacturing, MSC is proud to be a sponsor of MFG Day 2024, one of the major initiatives designed to strengthen the talent pipeline, and get students interested in a manufacturing career.

Every year, on the first Friday of October, MFG Day is the perfect opportunity to connect with middle and high-school students during open door events, aimed at highlighting the wide range of careers available within modern manufacturing.

MSC is excited to partner again this year with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville to invite students to the MSC Machining Research Laboratory on October 4, 2024. Participants will tour the lab, attend machine demonstrations, interact with representatives of leading manufacturing companies, and more.
